Terms of Service

  • Last updated August 11, 2026
  • A Wise Solution Steam Cleaning LLC

These terms cover what you can expect from us, what we need from you, and what steam cleaning can and cannot realistically do.

If you only read one section, make it what steam cleaning can and cannot do. That is where most misunderstandings in this trade come from.

01The agreement

These terms apply when you use this website and when you hire A Wise Solution Steam Cleaning LLC (“we,” “us,” “our”) to clean something. By booking an appointment or letting us start work, you are agreeing to them.

We have tried to write this in plain English rather than in the kind of language that exists to be skimmed past. If any part of it is unclear, call and ask before you book.

02What we do

We provide steam cleaning — hot water extraction — for:

  • Carpet, including traffic lanes, spots, and pet treatment
  • Area rugs and runners
  • Upholstered furniture
  • Tile and grout

We serve residential and commercial customers within roughly 30 miles of New Richmond, Wisconsin. Jobs outside that range may be possible; ask us.

We are a cleaning company. We are not a water damage restoration company, a mold remediation company, a flooring installer, or a contractor. If your situation needs one of those, we will tell you rather than take the job.

03Quotes and pricing

Quotes are free and carry no obligation. Pricing depends on square footage, surface type, and condition, which is why we quote each job rather than post a flat rate that would be wrong for most homes.

  • A quote given over the phone or by message is an estimate, based on what you have described.
  • The firm price is the one we give you after seeing the actual space, before any equipment comes off the truck.
  • If we find something on arrival that materially changes the job — far more square footage than described, a surface that needs specialist treatment, damage that changes the approach — we will stop, explain it, and give you a revised number. You are free to decline at that point and owe us nothing.
  • We will never do extra work and bill you for it afterward without telling you first.

Quotes are valid for 30 days unless we say otherwise.

04Scheduling, access, and cancellation

We work Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 7:00pm Central. We do our best to accommodate last-minute requests, showings, and move-out deadlines.

Arrival windows

We give arrival windows rather than exact times, because the job before yours can run long. If we are going to be late, we will tell you.

Access

You are responsible for making sure we can get in at the scheduled time, and that we have access to working electricity and a water source where required. If we arrive and cannot get in or cannot work, that counts as a same-day cancellation.

Changing or cancelling

  • Give us 24 hours' notice where you can, so the slot can go to someone else.
  • We do not currently charge a cancellation or no-show fee. We would rather you called than felt trapped into an appointment that no longer works.
  • We may need to reschedule too — equipment failure, weather, or a job that overruns. If that happens we will contact you as early as we can and get you back on the calendar as a priority.

05Before we arrive

A few things on your end make the job faster and the result better:

  • Clear the floors of small items, toys, cords, and anything breakable.
  • Vacuum if you can. Not essential, but it helps.
  • Secure pets. Our equipment is loud and doors are open. This is for their safety as much as ours.
  • Point out the problem areas. Stains, pet accidents, anything you have already tried to treat yourself — especially if you used a store-bought product, since some of them set stains permanently and change what we can do.
  • Tell us about allergies or sensitivities in the household so we can adjust.
  • Leave us somewhere to park reasonably close to the entrance.

Please also move or tell us about anything valuable, fragile, antique, or irreplaceable. We would rather work around it than be careful near it.

06What steam cleaning can and cannot do

This is the section we most want you to actually read, because it is where expectations get set.

Hot water extraction is very effective. It is not magic. Results depend on the fiber, the age and condition of the material, how long the problem has been there, and what has been done to it previously.

What we cannot promise to remove

  • Permanent staining — dye transfer, bleach, drain cleaner, acne medication, pet medication, plant food, and some inks and food dyes chemically alter the fiber. The color is gone; there is nothing left to lift.
  • Wear — traffic lanes that look dark may be abraded rather than dirty. Cleaning will not restore fiber that has been walked flat for years.
  • Sun fading and other UV damage.
  • Contamination that reached the pad or subfloor — deep pet urine in particular. Surface treatment helps, but odor coming from underneath the carpet needs the carpet lifted, which is a different job.
  • Pre-existing structural problems — delamination, seam separation, buckling, or rippling.

We will tell you honestly, before we start, when we think something will not fully come out. We would rather set the expectation than take your money for a result we cannot deliver.

Things that can happen after cleaning

  • Wicking — a spot that came out can reappear as deeper contamination migrates up the fiber while drying. Call us; this is usually fixable.
  • Cellulosic browning — certain natural-fiber backings can yellow as they dry.
  • Texture change — some carpets look different after cleaning simply because the pile has been lifted.
  • Shrinkage in certain natural-fiber and older wool rugs, which is a known risk of cleaning those materials at all.

07Pre-existing conditions and damage

We are not responsible for pre-existing damage or conditions, including wear, fading, permanent staining, previous poor repairs, loose seams, deteriorated backing, or furniture that was already damaged, unstable, or weakened before we arrived.

Where we notice a pre-existing condition, we will point it out before starting. If a piece of furniture or a floor covering is in a condition where cleaning carries real risk, we will tell you and let you decide.

If we damage something through our own negligence, we will make it right. Tell us before we leave, or as soon as you notice. Reports made promptly are far easier for everyone to resolve than ones made weeks later.

08Furniture

We move light, easily moveable pieces — dining chairs, side tables, ottomans — as a courtesy. We do not move:

  • Beds, large sectionals, pianos, pool tables, and heavy case goods
  • Anything with electronics on or in it
  • China cabinets, curio cabinets, and anything holding fragile items
  • Anything on a waterbed frame, or anything we judge unsafe to move

We clean around those. If you want the carpet underneath cleaned, the item needs to be moved before we arrive.

Furniture placed back on damp carpet can cause rust or stain transfer from the legs. We will use protective blocks or tabs where appropriate, and you should leave them in place until the carpet is fully dry.

09Drying

Typical carpet is dry within 4 to 8 hours, depending on airflow, humidity, carpet type, and how soiled it was. Upholstery and tile vary.

  • Walk on damp carpet only in clean socks or shoe covers. Bare feet and street shoes both cause problems.
  • Keep air moving — fans, HVAC, or open windows if the weather cooperates.
  • Take particular care where damp carpet meets a hard floor; it will be slippery.
  • Keep pets and children off the treated area until it is dry.

10Our satisfaction guarantee

If you are not happy with the work, tell us. We will come back and re-clean the area at no charge.

  • Contact us within 7 days of the service so we can address it while it is fresh.
  • The guarantee covers the quality of our cleaning — areas we missed, spots that should have come out, work that fell short.
  • It does not cover the conditions described in what steam cleaning cannot do, new soiling that happened after we left, or results that were disclosed as uncertain before we started.
  • The guarantee is a re-clean. It is not automatically a refund.

This is not us looking for an exit. If we got it wrong, we want the chance to fix it — that is the entire point of being the person who both answers the phone and does the work.

11Payment

Payment is due when the work is complete, unless we have agreed something different in writing beforehand.

  • We do not require a deposit to book a standard residential job.
  • The price you were quoted after the walkthrough is the price you pay. There are no surprise line items.
  • Commercial accounts and recurring work may be invoiced on separate terms, agreed in advance.
  • If a payment does not go through, we will contact you before doing anything else.

12Text messages

If you give us your phone number we may text you about your quote, appointment, or job. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help. Consent to receive texts is not a condition of hiring us.

Your mobile opt-in data and consent are never shared with third parties. Full detail is in our Privacy Policy.

13Using this website

The content on this site — text, layout, code, graphics, our logo, and our name — belongs to us or is used with permission. You are welcome to read it, share links to it, and print it for your own use. You may not copy it wholesale for a competing business.

We try to keep everything on this site accurate and current, but we do not warrant that it is free of errors or that it will always be available. Nothing on this site is a binding offer; a price becomes binding when we give it to you directly for your specific job.

Do not use this site to attempt unauthorized access, transmit malicious code, scrape content at scale, or interfere with its operation.

14Disclaimers and limitation of liability

We carry insurance and we work carefully. That said, the following applies to the fullest extent Wisconsin law allows.

Our services are provided on an “as is” basis. Except for the satisfaction guarantee described above, we make no warranties, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose.

Limitation

Our total liability arising out of any job is limited to the amount you paid us for that job. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost profits, loss of use, or the cost of alternative accommodation.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including liability for personal injury caused by our negligence.

Some states do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

15Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims arising out of your breach of these terms, your misuse of this website, or your failure to disclose a known hazard at the service address — for example an aggressive animal, a structural defect, or a known contamination.

16Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wisconsin, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in St. Croix County, Wisconsin, and both sides consent to that venue.

Before anyone involves a court, please just call us. Nearly everything that has ever gone sideways on a job has been sorted out with a phone call and a return visit.

17Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The version in effect when you booked is the one that applies to your job. The “last updated” date at the top of this page tells you when it last changed.

If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in force.
