Work with us

We are a small operation and we hire rarely, but we are always willing to hear from someone who takes the work seriously. If that sounds like you, the application is at the bottom of this page.

No surprises

What the job actually is.

The same honesty we give customers about what carpet cleaning can do, applied to what this work is like. Better you know now than three weeks in.

What we look for

  • Showing up — on time, every scheduled day. In a two-person business one no-show cancels somebody's appointment.
  • A valid driver's license and a clean enough record to drive the van.
  • Being decent in someone's home — you will be in living rooms, clinics and nurseries. Polite, tidy, and careful with people's things.
  • Physical stamina — hoses, wands and stairs, on your feet most of the day.
  • Attention to the boring parts — the edges, the corners, the second pass. That is where the difference actually is.
  • Willingness to learn the trade — no experience needed if you are genuinely interested in doing it properly.

Worth knowing up front

  • It is physical work — lifting equipment, moving furniture, kneeling, and hauling hose up and down stairs.
  • It is hot work in summer — the equipment runs hot and the houses are not always air conditioned.
  • The schedule moves — a job runs long, someone needs a same-day slot. Flexibility matters more than a fixed clock.
  • You are the company while you are there — there is no crew to hide in and no manager on site.
  • We are small — that means variety and real responsibility, but not a big-company career ladder.

A normal day

Load up, drive out, do it properly.

  1. Load and check

Equipment checked, solutions stocked, route sorted. Kit that fails mid-job costs the whole day.

  2. Walk the job

Meet the customer, look at the actual rooms, flag anything that will not come out before starting.

  3. Do the work

Pre-treat, agitate, extract, groom. Two to four jobs on a normal day depending on size and drive time.

  4. Walk it and pack down

Room by room with the customer, then equipment cleaned and reloaded ready for tomorrow.

Do you have a valid driver's license?

Required. Got a resume? Email it to [email protected].

Before you apply

Fair questions.

Not always. We are small, so openings come up rarely and often at short notice. Applications are kept on file and looked at first when something does open up, so it is worth sending one even if nothing is advertised.

No. The method can be taught to anyone willing to learn it properly. What cannot be taught easily is turning up on time and being someone a customer is comfortable having in their house. If you have those, the rest follows.

It depends on experience and whether the role is full or part time. We would rather discuss a real number with you than post a range that does not fit the role, so ask when we talk — we will not be cagey about it.

We work Monday to Friday, 8am to 7pm, and we do not currently run overnight or weekend jobs. Actual days vary with the schedule — some finish early, some run to the end of the window.

Tony reads it. If there is a fit he will call you for a proper conversation, and usually a ride-along on a real job so you can see what the work is before either side commits. You will get an answer either way.

Equipment is ours. You will need a valid driver's license and a record clean enough to drive the van, and reliable transport to get yourself to the shop in New Richmond at the start of the day.
